Broadcast is the main focus throughout the 1st year of our Level 3 Media course.  Students are taught to use our radio and television studios and then apply this technical knowledge to the design and production of live broadcasts.  This is a very different to the film making processes taught in the 2nd year, which involve the capturing of footage to be edited into a final film.  A broadcast project, whether it be radio or television, requires the continued rehearsal of shows, which are then transmitted or recorded as live in a final broadcast when the show is ready to air.

Broadcasts demand a high level of skill in planning, organisation, leadership, communication and team work.  Only through professional practice can a full TV show be suitably rehearsed and delivered.  The development of these skills in the 1st year then help to prepare for the demands and expectations of year 2.

Note:  The course content for the 2018-19 academic year is subject to change.
